Today we ventured to the Apple Barn in Abbotsford! Riley LOVED it!

Adventures don’t just happen in the woods. Adventures can happen anywhere! Today took us out to Abbotsford BC to Taves Farm Apple Barn for their fall festivities. We bought tickets online due to covid. When we arrived the parking lot was starting to empty from the morning so we got easy front step parking! Flashed our tickets and walked in the gate.
Now one might think, an apple barn? What are you doing at an apple barn? That’s not much fun. But wait till you get there!

We started at the hay ride. A pretty quick little jaunt around the outskirts of the orchard. Along the way you can hop off and try your hand at the Mystery Corn Maze, and then continue your ride.
This farm has it all! The apples in the orchard are done for the season but if you find a few on the branches grab a snack! Then as you munch on that delicious apple, pick your pumpkin for Halloween in Cinderella’s Pumpkin Patch!
The hay ride runs every 20 to 30 minutes so if you hope off at the corn maze don’t worry, you’ll catch the next ride when you’ve exited the maze! It’s also only a 5 to 10 minute walk through the orchard to get back to the front gates if you don’t want to wait for your chauffeur.

We explored the pumpkins and walked among the apple trees, stopping to pick a couple to snack on along our route. Then tried our hand at that corn maze….that took us a good 45 minutes to finish! We kept taking wrong turns at the riddles, apparently we don’t know much about apples! Riley had some fun running into the corn stalks and back out again…the little bugger had more fun in the corn than the kids!
Now you can’t go to the Apple Barn and not have the cider. They make it on site and it is SOOOOOO good! Gotta try it when you go!
The kids enjoyed the bouncing pillow and slides before heading to the petting zoo (Riley had to mind his manners outside while our friends fed the goats and played with the bunnies).

And when you’ve had your fill of the peddle karts, kids play gym, petting zoo/farm, and feeding the goats, take a turn through the little country store. Find something to drink, something to eat, and things to buy! The roasted corn is to die for and that cider, I can’t say enough about the cider! Its just so crisp and delicious. For mom and dad who need a break…there is a little “pub” on site for you to try some locally made Hard Apple Cider’s and Brews while the kids go crazy on the playgrounds. Plan to spend a few hours here as there is LOTS to see and do on the farm!
Take your next adventure local if you can’t find a way to a mountain. There’s just as much fun to find in town as there is out of it if you know where to look!
