Christmas is always a fun time in our house! We go all out every year at every house. And by all out…I do mean the biggest stockings you’ve ever seen!
Christmas, and any holiday, is a time to gather with friends and family you hold dear. To celebrate another year. To share with each other the dinners and love each holiday brings. Our fur-balls are a part of that gathering every year. They get presents and treats, and special fun too, just like the little ones do!

My brother and his dog, Dodge, joined us by the fireplace to wait for Santa to fill those stockings! And did Santa ever fill those stockings…including the little fur-ball stockings for all the puppers and kitties in the house! Though I don’t know that Riley was thrilled with the shampoo, he does NOT like baths.
When we shop for our pups we have to keep a few things in mind, safety being the big one!
Santa tends to stuff Riley’s stocking with all sorts of goodies he doesn’t normally get (because he chews them to pieces so fast!). So he gets extra excited for that Santa stocking. He gets tennis balls which he promptly strips of all the fuzz, a teddy bear that quickly becomes devoid of limbs and stuffing, and treats that are so yummy but so bad (you know, the ones that taste great but have no nutrition, the ones I equate to a a chocolate bar or candy in my own stocking each year).
Typically he gets a new toy, some treats and something spiffy like a new collar or ID tag. Abby got the same when she was with us, though she was more interested in playing with Riley and his toy than her own!

Derp! Think someone is happy to be among the presents? He just wants to open them all and get the treats hidden inside!
He wears his little Santa hat proudly at Christmas time…probably because it comes with lots of goodies. Nonetheless, he’s a geek that strikes a pose whenever he fancies it, tongue and all!

Abby, sadly, passed a little over a year ago now and was a complete love bug of an Aussie! You couldn’t stop loving her if you tried, she wouldn’t let you. She would chew on Riley’s legs, take his food/treats, pull off his collars and just torment him. But Riley never minded. She never wanted attention taken from her, she always had to be at the centre! She has left paw prints on many hearts.
What does Santa bring for your pet? We want to know!
