Our Adventure loving Goofer-butt and the reason we keep these adventures alive.

Riley came to us as a young 13 week old pup and eager for adventure! He loved people, wanted to play and tug, and loved to rip the stuffing out of toys. Oh, and you think you like turkey at thanksgiving? So did Riley – at 7 months old he was on the counter chowing down on the bird fresh out the oven.

Riley’s adventures started early. He has camped and hiked from the very beginning. He even got a university education! In addition to his over-achiever attitude in Agility and basic training, Riley participated in Criminology and Anthropology courses at the local university. That’s right folks, Riley was a true teacher’s pet. He would have very heated debates with our Criminology Professor and help give lectures throughout the semester.

Riley continued to love any new challenge In front of him. He learned to paddleboard at 14 years old, snowshoed in -17 C at 15 years old, and loved every second of it. He was no spring chicken but he had all the heart in the world. Riley taught us a lot about senior dogs and the outdoors. Much of the assistance gear we use today was initially bought for Riley as we learned how to keep him comfortable on the trails.

Riley is the inspiration behind this site and the reason we have grown so much in our understanding, our approach, our commitment (and our closet space) over the years.
