Our little beauty. The pup that has provided new life and new challenges to our adventures!

Little missy girl Skye was a breathe of fresh air for our little home. After the passing of our beloved Riley we were empty. Little Skye brought life back to us again and reinstated our love for getting outdoors again. Skye also came with her own set of challenges though – and again, we learned.

Skye is a very sheltered, timid, shy little pup. She was an older pup when we brought her home at 7 months. Spending 7 months on a farm did nothing to tame the fear that was rampant through her little body. She was afraid of the chair in the living room, terrified of the doorway, and just wanted to sit on the couch and hide. Her adventures have been a much slower start to allow her the time to adjust to the world at her pace.

Skye has since blossomed into quite the lover of a trail. She sees the trailhead and beelines for it! She loves the paddleboard and enjoys having a little nap in the sun while I paddle around a lake. She has no problem jumping into the water to cool off when we are out on the water – however, the shoreline waves are still the things her nightmares seem to be made of. She won’t go near the water line on shore!

We have had to learn more patience for introducing activities to Skye. We never want her to be forced, but sometimes a little nudge or two is needed to try something new!
